Terms of Use
StayWise is intermediation technology. The care itself is agreed between you and an independent provider, and runs under that provider’s own rules.
Version 2026-09 · drafted 2026-09-02
Preliminary version
What StayWise does
StayWise provides intermediation technology through which pet owners find independent care providers, exchange information, request a quote and follow a booking.
StayWise is not a party to the care contract, does not employ providers and does not process booking payments. Price, payment method and timing, financial cancellation, receipts and taxes are agreed and settled directly between the parties, unless a future service and revised terms expressly say otherwise.
Who these Terms bind
These Terms govern your use of the marketplace: the site at staywise.pet and the StayWise apps for pet owners.
Providers do not accept this document. They run their business on StayWise Admin, a separate product whose own terms live at adm.staywise.pet/docs/terms, and their obligations towards StayWise are set out there. What this page says about providers therefore describes them — it is not an undertaking given to you by the provider through StayWise.
Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate information and keep your credentials safe.
- Disclose your animal’s relevant needs: risks, medication, vaccination status, emergency contacts and care instructions.
- Do not use the platform for fraud, scraping, harassment, unlawful content, or to circumvent platform controls.
What providers are responsible for
Providers are independent businesses, not StayWise staff. Under the StayWise Admin terms it is for the provider to assess whether it has the capacity, premises, qualifications and experience a request calls for, and to decline what it cannot take on.
StayWise does not employ, supervise, train or certify providers, and does not guarantee the outcome of a stay. A profile, its photos, its amenities and its pet policy are statements by the provider, published through StayWise — not warranties given by StayWise about that provider.
Quotes, acceptance and the host’s address
Quotes and availability may change until the moment you accept. The host’s exact address and private contact details are released only after acceptance — before that, the listing shows an approximate area.
After acceptance: the booking becomes the provider’s
Accepting a quote creates the booking inside the provider’s own StayWise Admin account, and the provider manages it there: schedule, care records, receipts and any photos taken of your animal during the stay.
From that moment the stay runs under the provider’s house rules, cancellation policy and payment arrangements, agreed with the provider directly. The Privacy Policy explains what the same moment means for your personal data.
Clinical disclaimer
The platform, its filters and its profiles do not provide diagnosis, prescription or veterinary triage, and do not replace advice from a qualified veterinarian. Pet sitters and boarding providers are not a substitute for veterinary care.
In an emergency, contact a veterinary service immediately and follow the emergency plan agreed for the stay. Owners should obtain professional guidance on medication, clinical conditions, vaccination and fitness for boarding; providers should refuse care beyond their competence or facilities.
Suspension and enforcement
StayWise may suspend accounts, remove content and preserve evidence where that is necessary for safety, for an investigation, or to meet a legal obligation.
Versions and changes
The identifier shown at the top of this page is the version your acceptance records. When a material change is published the identifier changes and you are asked to accept the new version on your next sign-in; a version you already accepted is never rewritten in place.
What this preliminary version does not yet settle
These points are with legal review and are deliberately not asserted here:
- The contracting entity, minimum age, territory, governing law and forum.
- The precise legal role of StayWise and of hosts, including responsibility for selection and verification.
- Cancellation and commercial policy, and how off-platform payment is recorded.
- Limits of liability, warranties, indemnity, insurance and incident response.
- Consumer-specific rules for Brazil, Hungary and the wider EU.
